We are a small group of thyroid cancer patients and friends, from South Wales, who have joined together in this self help group for the benefit of people who have been affected by thyroid cancer.
Would you like to talk to someone who has been through the experience of diagnosis and treatment?
We arrange for volunteers to provide a “buddy” service, allowing newly diagnosed thyroid cancer patients, if they wish , to speak to someone who has gone through the experience.
At our group meetings we often have guest speakers including health professionals.
We organise regular events to raise funds to improve the facilities and environment for patients having treatment. We also produced the first DVD of treatment in the isotopic room to help put patients’ minds at ease.
We have funded the world’s first Anaplastic Thyroid Cancer Tissue Bank based at Velindre.
